Morrice
was Head of English at Downsend
School, Leatherhead and continues his interest as a private tutor.
He will include some very basic grammar and vocabulary but will
delve into Latin in the world of nature including names of plants and
birds with their meanings and derivations.
He will also explore inscriptions, mottoes, sayings in common,
legal and ecclesiastical parlance together with Latin abbreviations and
derivations of our current language. He
will welcome participation and says, the more people can contribute and
share, the better.
No
prior knowledge of Latin is necessary and the object is to learn aspects
of Latin as we find it in everyday life today.
