Their mother had just died and their father was a commercial traveller working away.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 120 Park Road, Elswick, Northumberland, England, she was listed as the daughter of Edward Marston.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Hughenden Villa, Longbenton, Northumberland, England, she was listed as the daughter of Edward Marston Margaret was a nurse.5
