In the census of 30 March 1851 at High Street, Wigton, Cumbria, England, he was listed as the son of John Hewitson.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in High Street, Wigton, Cumbria, England, he was listed as the son of an unknown person.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in High Street, Wigton, Cumbria, England, he was listed as the son of John Hewitson Joseph was a scholar.5 In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the servant to the widower John Nicholson, Joseph worked as an indoor farm servant.6 He married Emma Ralph, daughter of Edward Ralph, in 1871 in Stockton, Durham, England.7 Joseph was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 12 Elliott Street, Middlesborough, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a ship caulker, there is a new baby unnamed on the enumeration sheet aged two days. I assumed that to be Charles Frederick, however there is a Charles Frederick registered Q2/ 1881 as I expected and another 1881/Q4. No death can be found for the earlier child. Maybe he was registered twice?8 Joseph was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 12 Elliott Street, Middlesborough, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a foreman caulker, Emma has taken young Maggie, Emma and Albert to visit her sister and husband.9 Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 26 Newcommen Terrace, Redcar, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a Cauker at the shipyard.10 He died in 1911 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England.11

     Miles Lawson Walker was born in 1867 in Coniscliffe, Durham, England.1 He was the son of Richard Walker and Eliza Lawson. In the census of 2 April 1871 in Coniscliffe, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Richard Walker.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Cold Knuckles, Ormesby, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the nephew of Frank Greathead.3 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Cold Knuckles Farm, Ormesby, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the nephew of Francis Greathead Miles was a farm labourer.4,5 Miles's uncle John # 2174 died 4 June 1928. The Probate of his estate was received by Miles in London on 23 July 1928. Miles was listed as a farmer.6
