The policy was on the brick dwelling house of John Hitchcock for six hundred pounds. His household goods wearing apparel printed books and plate were also covered for a further three hundred pounds. China and glass a further twenty pounds and stock and utensils and goods eighty pounds. The premium was £1 1/6 and it was due for renewal midsummer 1822. The duty paid was £1 10/-. By 21 April 1923 the property was in the hands of Mr Maguire and no longer covered.⁴ On 27 February 1837 Robert was indicted for a misdemenor at the Old Bailey. It would appear that on 9 September 1836 Robert appeared at St Katherine's Dock and fraudulantly presented a sampling order. He was found guilty and of good charector and he was recommended for mercy receiving a sentence to be confined for six months.² Robert was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 June 1841 in Fullwood Road, St Andrew, Holborn, London, England, Robert was an attorney clerk.⁵ He died in 1845 in Marylebone, London, England.⁶
