Tom did national service 1953-55.3 He married Marjorie Hawes in 1955 in Colchester, Essex, England.1,4 He died on 16 February 2008 aged 76.5

     Charles Greathead was born on 14 August 1862 in Sunderland, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of John Greathead and Jane Bailes. In the census of 2 April 1871 in 42 Robinson Terrace, Bishopwearmouth, Sunderland, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John Greathead Charles was a scholar.3 He married Letitia Caroline Greenwood, daughter of Thomas George Greenwood and Letitia Caver, on 12 April 1890 in St Pancras, London, England.1,4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Locktoo Road, Spondon, Derbyshire, England, he was listed as a boarder of Walter Stewer. Charles was a decorator.5 He died on 9 March 1900 in Hackney, London, England, aged 37 It is believed that he died whilst painting a mural on the ceiling of the Brompton Oratory. His family apparently disowned him as they were unhappy him being a painter.1,6,7

     Letitia Caroline Greenwood was born in 1865 in Islington, London, England.3,4 She was the daughter of Thomas George Greenwood and Letitia Caver.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 28 Pratt Street, Camden Town, London, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas George Greenwood Letitia was a dressmaker.5 One of Letitia's brothers emigrated to Australia.6 She married Charles Greathead, son of John Greathead and Jane Bailes, on 12 April 1890 in St Pancras, London, England.1,7 Her husband Charles died on 9 March 1900 in Hackney, London, England, aged 37 It is believed that he died whilst painting a mural on the ceiling of the Brompton Oratory. His family apparently disowned him as they were unhappy him being a painter.1,8,6 Letitia was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 at 12 Hermitage Road, Stoke Newington, London, England, She was a widow working as a dressmaker.2 Letitia was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Edmonton, London, England.9 She died in 1932 in Edmonton, London, England.10

     Charles Thomas Greathead was born on 1 November 1894 in Islington, London, England.1,3,4 He was the son of Charles Greathead and Letitia Caroline Greenwood.2 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 12 Hermitage Road, Stoke Newington, London, England, he was listed as the son of Letitia Caroline Greathead.2 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Edmonton, London, England, he was listed as the son of Letitia Caroline Greathead.5 Charles signed up on 16 May 1916 for short service and gave hs address as 84 Hampden Road, Hornsay. He was approved for the Royal Horse Artillary and was aged 21 years 4 months. His height was listed as 5 foot 9 inches tall with a chest measurement of 35 inches and no distinctive marks. His occupation was given a a hosier assistant. Gunner 140097 Greathead went to France on 13 October 1916 until 28 December 1916 and was demobolised on 28 January 1919.6 He married Emily Mary Robinson, daughter of John Robinson and Henrietta Ellen Monger, on 22 October 1922 in Tufnell Park, London, England.1,7 He died on 14 April 1964 in 98 Upsdell Avenue, Wood Green, London, England, aged 69.1,8,9 The will of Charles was proved on 17 June 1964 at London to John his son, who was a bank official. His effects were valued at £4920.9

     Reuben Raggett was baptized on 17 September 1826 in Elstead, Surrey, England, The IGI intimates his parents were James and Anne.2,1 He was the son of James Raggett and Elizabeth Callingham.1 He married Mary Nash on 29 July 1848 in Elstead, Surrey, England.1,3,2 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Vamneys Farm, Elstead, Surrey, England, he was listed as the son of James Raggett.4 Reuben was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in China Row, Bramley, Guildford, Surrey, England, Reuben was listed as an agricultural labourer.5 Reuben was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Thorncombe Street, Surrey, England, Reuben was a farm labourer living with his wife and family.6 His wife Mary died on before 1891.1 Reuben was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in China Row, Bramley, Surrey, England, Reuben had his daughter Kate livving with him, he was listed as ana agricultural labourer.7
