     Walter Turnbull Greathead was born on 23 July 1878 in Gladstone, Wairarapa, New Zealand.2,3,4 He was the son of Robert Greathead and Emma Bright. Greathead W T 1002 D Trooper Walter Turnbull Greathead served in the Boar War with the Bethunes Mounted Infantry from 19 July 1900 to 6 October. His next of kin was registered as his Uncle-John G Greathead from Caterow, New Zealand. he was later transferred to the Transvaal Constabulary.5 He married Flora Mackenzie on 4 August 1904 in Pretoria, South Africa.2,4 He died on 19 December 1957 in Pretoria, South Africa, aged 79.2,4 He was buried in Rebecca St. Cemetery, Pretoria, South Africa.2

     Peter Shutkowski was born in 1851 in Poland.2 He married Rosalie Christine Lipinski about 1875 in Poland. He and Rosalie Christine Shutkowski emigrated on 29 March 1884 from Plymouth, Devon, England, arriving Port Chalmers, Wellington, New Zealand on 25 May 1884 on "Victory" voyage number 2. The family were German, and Peter worked as a labourer. The Passage Order Number was 629. Their previous address in Germany was Baban, Folwark, Preis, R B Danzig, West Prussia. Their nominator was Frank Lipziski from Carterton. He died on 12 April 1918 in South Carterton, New Zealand. He was buried in Clareville, New Zealand.
